Nearly every person I’ve discussed their website with has the same mentality that they cannot afford a website design or redesign. I can sympathize with this, because I have seen the proposals given by some of the companies I’ve worked with. However, this is also the main motivation for me to start Point Brake: to bring affordable design solutions to everyone. Great design should not be a privilege granted only to those with excessive monetary resources. I decided to compile a list of the great design going on around the Indianapolis area.

Rogue Art Photography
Brian and Amy Grissom of Rogue Art Photography are two truly unique and imaginative people. It is only appropriate that their website should follow suit, perfectly reflecting the originality of their work.
Ratio Architects
I came across this site while searching the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce’s business directory. The crisp, clean feel creates a perfect presentation for the images of their work samples.
Lohr Design
Another site I came across while sifting through the ICC Business Directory, this site is incredibly simplistic yet efficient.
Milto Cleaners
Milto has been turning my head with their clever design for a few months, especially within the past few weeks with their billboard campaign. Their site, overall, works really well for them. There are some things that still bother me about it, but it seems to be successful for them at this point.
Astbury Environmental Engineering
Another simplistic design that proves to be working very well. I was especially impressed that an environmental company wasn’t over-emphasizing their “green” focus in the design of the site.
Indianapolis Wedding Blog
The Indianapolis Wedding Blog is fairly new but is quickly becoming a wonderful resource for Indianapolis brides. The clean yet creative magazine-style layout offers superb usability.
Oliver Winery
Oliver somewhat recently updated their website design, which seems to be paying off as a great business move for them. Since the update, I’ve noticed their products being sold in more and more stores throughout the state.
Make Your Mark
In the coming months and years, I am excited to see more and more local businesses becoming more design-minded. Most people still do not realize that the true expense of a website is not the cost of designing it, but instead it is losing potential clients and customers to competitors who see the value in design.
