Work In Progress

As you may have noticed, there have been some changes taking place around here lately. I’m still not satisfied with the design, but I always feel that I have a better perspective on whether or not something works if I create a working version. Hopefully within the next few weeks I’ll land on something that I’m truly happy with.

Another work in progress is the Shade of Green Living site. I’m becoming quite the fan of editing things “live”. I think its interesting for clients to see how a work progresses. I’m excited to see how it works out for a client to give feedback throughout the process. It might speed up the process, or it might slow it down immensely. It most likely will depend fully upon who the client is and how picky they are, and especially how much patience they have. Or, how much understanding they have of the term “work in progress”.

Everything in life is a work in progress. We as people can always improve ourselves, and designs can always be improved. So many people try to hide the beginning stages of the design/development process, and I just don’t understand why. Where we come from is just as important as where we are going. So I think from now on I will be taking this approach with most of my clients–at least until I’m proven that it slows the process down too much.
